Admission

JIMSH offers undergraduate, graduate, diploma, and paramedical medical studies. However, admission to the MBBS program requires passing the NEET UG, and admission to the MD/MS program is contingent upon passing the NEET PG. The Joint Entrance Exam results determine a student's admission status to JIMSH's BSc Nursing program. To be eligible for GNM and Paramedical courses, a candidate needs to pass the HSC or a comparable exam.

For JIMSH MBBS Admission:

  • To gain direct admission to JIMSH for MBBS, students must register for and take the NEET-UG test, which is administered by NTA.
  • Candidates must register on the WBMCC website, and participate in the counseling procedure for both the PVT. Management Quota and the WB State Quota, and provide their NEET-UG scores.
  • The candidates must next complete the choice-based filling and choice-locking processes for the seats to be assigned appropriately.
  • Candidates are required to designate JIMSH, Kolkata as their preferred medical college during the choice-locking phase.
  • Subsequently, the students must physically show up at JIMSH with an acknowledgment slip and all necessary documentation for fee payment and document verification.
  • Final admission to JIMSH, Kolkata is contingent upon the student's payment of fees, participation in the counseling process, document verification, and NEET-UG scores.
    For BSc. Nursing Admission:
  • Applicants must take the Joint Entrance Test, which is administered by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB), to be admitted to JIMSH's BSc Nursing program.
  • A merit list will be created to shortlist candidates based on their Joint Entrance Test results.
  • Those who make the shortlist must register for both the BSc Nursing Counseling website and the JENPAUH counseling process.
  • Candidates must take part in the counseling process and choose JIMSH, Kolkata during the choice-filling phase to be assigned a seat based on availability and merit.
  • To pay the fees and have their documents verified, candidates must next show up at the JIMSH campus.
  • Final admission to JIMSH, Kolkata is contingent upon the student's payment of fees, participation in the counseling process, document verification, and Joint Entrance Test scores.

For GNM Admission:

  • To be considered for admission to the GNM course, candidates must visit JIMSH, Kolkata's official website and submit an online application.
  • The overall score earned in the required subjects—one language paper, English, and the other best of three courses, excluding Environmental Studies—will determine admission to the GNM program at JIMSH.
  • Candidates will then be contacted to pay the cost and have their documents verified.
  • Final admission to JIMSH in Kolkata is contingent upon the student's payment of the required fees, document verification, and candidate merit.

For DNB Admission:

  • The National Board of Examinations (NBE) administers the Diplomate of National Board Common Entrance Test (DNB CET). Applicants must apply and take the exam.
  • Selected candidates must choose JIMSH during the choice-filling and locking process. They must also engage in centralized counseling.
  • They then need to show up for the seat assignment and document verification procedure.
